Hi to VJ family. I'm new here but this site is supporting me to know much in this trip.

Our pakage 3 was sent to Accra office since july 18th 2007. As at last week nonthing was heard from CO. Twice e-mail was sent. just this week the Co e-mailed that they are on pepper works and they shall get to us with the parkage 3 soon. This has put I and my finacee in a stressed mood. I want to know. How long the CO send out the parkage 3 when the NVC sent the whole parkage to Accra office.

looking at our case, interview should have be done this september but the CO is still holding the parkage 3 since 7-18-2007 NVC sent the parkage to Accra. I contacted the CO yesterday same story was given to me. Can any one advice us relatiing to office of America embassy in Accra. Waiting to hear from the love once in this family. I

Thanks to you all with Lord blessing.

I looked at RadicalLover's timeline to get an idea. She had her NOA2 in February and didn't get her package 3 until April and her fiance's interview was in September. Maybe it's normal. I'm not really sure. I think that you also have the option to go to the embassy and pick up the Interview and Instruction package if you haven't received it in the mail. Maybe your fiance should try that since waiting can be so stressful.

Good Luck!

We have already discussed this over PM but we are still waiting for our package 3 too. I am thinking of maybe having my fiance drop by the embassy next week to see if he can pick it up but I don't kow if they will let him do that. It could very well be because the wait time for an interview in Ghana is 4-6 months.

I'll let you know what we do.

I apologize in advance because I don't know your whole story. There is no timeline in your profile for me to go by, but are you saying that your packet left the NVC on July 18 and you are waiting to hear from the embassy for your fiance to come pick up the packet 3? Once he returns the required forms in the packet 3, he will then receive a letter (packet 4) that same day with his interview date. I say this cautiously - but it shouldn't take this long, but with the embassy there in Ghana there is no telling!! We waited nearly two months I think. (Check my timeline) They said they still didn't have our packet even after my fiance received his letter in the mail telling him to come pick up his packet 3. The embassy there is quite unpredictable. Try not to get your hopes up too high. Interviews are being scheduled at least six months out. If you think you are being treated unfairly - don't hesitate to contact your state senator... I know exactly how you are feeling. Tell your fiance to keep checking the mail!! Hang in there. I promise it's all worth the trouble in the end!!

You jumped in right before me!! :) Since your packet left the NVC just last week, I would wait a little longer before checking with them. Your package may very well be there, but not processed in the system quite yet. They are EXTREMELY busy and EXTREMELY slow there in Accra. It's worth a try. I've seen it done once, but that one time the American fiancee had an email confirmation that the packet was there. I've delt with those guards there at the embassy, they probably won't let him in without a letter... But it's worth a try. Tell your fiance to keep checking his mail.

AfrikChild,

I am so sorry about the headache that the Ghana embassy has put you and your fiance through!!! I remember going through the same thing when we had hoped that the k-3 would move faster but lo and behold, it was quite a delay and long amount of time before we recieved package 3. I had to call several times just to find out if they had rec'd our petition from the NVC and when they finally did, I had to call several times to make sure they sent my brother in law the petition (i.e my ghanaian hubby lives abroad so we contacted the ghana embassy for my in law to pick up package 3 for us and he traveled all the way from Takoradi). The funny thing was after about 1 month of bothering them about my packet 3, they sent me a letter notifying me that they had rec'd our petition and that packet 3 will be mailed shortly to my brother in law's address. My brother in law finally rec'd package 3 in the mail after about a month!!! I am sad to say that the Ghana embassy takes awhile to process paperwork. Hang in there and have your fiance keep calling from time to time as well and hopefully soon, you will get packet 3.

We really shouldn't be surprised that they move slowly. Everything in Ghana moves at a different pace. Keep positive and sure enough it will come to pass. Remember the blessing that it isn't still in VSC or one of the other service centers. Sending good vibes your way! :luv:
