Hi does anyone know if the NVC sends insturctions in duplicate? I filled out the DS-230 Part I and mailed it per their checklist letter. A week later I recived another letter teling me to go to the "Applicant Document Preocessing link". I have already done all of this. The date on the letter is 9/3/2007, which is dated before the 9/6/2007 checklist letter that the NVC sent me asking for the DS-230 form. Does the NVC send duplicate instructions?

Hi consumer,

Assuming you are only doing an application for one person, that is kind of strange, I have never heard of it.

I think it might be a good idea to give them a call.

Good luck!

The duplicate request for the submission of DS-230 seems to occur if you have submitted the I-864 prior to submitting DS-230. The case is not complete until both forms were submitted. Both forms must co-exist during the NVC review, if only one of the form is present during the review, an automatic notification will be generated until both forms are in the possesion of NVC.

We received to letter just as you. I called NVC and everything was not fine. We received two letters the first stating the case was incomplete and we needed the OF-230I(Same form as DS-230I). But the letter was misleading and the actual request letter had not been generated. This occurred because the AOS I864 was processed before the fee for the DS-230 was paid. The NVC denied I had received the letter and further instructed me not to answer until the actual request for the DS-230 had been generated. The clue to the wrong letter was the official comment that "the case was incomplete and missing documents (DF-230I)". Make sure the request for completion of the DS-230 has been generated. CALL NVC if you have questions. If you respond to this misleading letter before NVC has officially generated the real DS-230 letter for your case, NVC will return it to you and you will loose time.

:o My comment regarding this matter hopefully will not mislead anyone.

I received the same OF-230-I and when i called NVC, they actually told me that it was ok to send it with the barcode coversheet attached with it. This is a 3-pages packet, which I called CHECKLIST packet. However, since I am using JSC v2.0, I did not use that barcode coversheet, I used the DS230 coversheet I generated myself and mine was accepted just fine. But before I sent it, I made sure there was no issue found on my I-864 and that my IV bill was already processed by NVC.

You are right, when in doubt, call NVC

I received the same thing, actually I received a checklist letter indicating that NVC was waiting for my wife's DS230 application along with the required documents. Then after a week and a half later, I got another letter - my wife's packet 3. Rina and everyone else here is correct, when in doubt call NVC!! I called them to see which cover sheet to use and NVC said it does not really matter. However, after talking to NVC and a few personnel, they advised me to use the coversheet that came in packet 3!! :)

I am confused, should I have waited for the IV fee bill and then send both the I-864 package with this bill? I sent in the I-864 and I am waiting on the IV Fee bill to arrive?

This is for the step children who are CR-2 's.

Thanks

Why is it that the only one who can stop the crying is the one who started it in the first place?

The IV Fee Bill goes to another address, which is to St. Louis, MO lockbox, while the I-864 is going to Portsmouth, NH. You have to wait for the IV Fee Bill to arrive in the snail mail, and then send it back with your $380 money order. Please call NVC regarding the status of your I-864.
