My husband was K1, but the questions are similar. Here is our review from our timeline:

On February 7, 2007, My fiance was interviewed for about 15 minutes. He was asked detailed questions about me and my family. He had about 80 pictures of me with him and with his family, and the CO looked at them all. He took logs of Skype calls (our principal means of communication) as well as printouts of chats, emails between us, and emails between him and my parents. The CO did not look at any of that. He was given Form 221(g) and placed in administrative processing. On February 14, 2007, the consulate called him and told him to return to Casa the next day with his passport. He did, and they sent him away, saying there was a problem with a machine and they could not issue the visa, and that he should return on February 20. He did, and was again told to return the next day. I emailed Casablanca to ask about the status of his case. The next day, February 21, 2007, he received his visa with an expiration date of August 13, 2007.

In addition, the officer asked follow-up questions. For example, my then-fiance said that I had dogs, so she asked the names of the dogs. She asked where my parents live, and how far that was from me. Try to answer only what is asked. If you add extra information, they may ask more detailed questions to be sure you know what you're talking about. If you don't know an answer, say you don't know or you don't remember. They are trained to study your reaction, so relax and be honest.

She did not look at our chat logs, etc., but they might ask for yours. Or they might not ask for any proof at all. Make sure they see you have proof. Be polite and respectful, but be assertive, not shy. There is a small shelf in front of the window -- put your proof there where they can see it, not on the floor. Ask to show it to them.

My husband took one notebook with all of our written proof, photocopies, etc, and he took a separate photo album. We put our two favorite pictures on the front and back covers of the photo album so the officer could see our favorite pictures during the interview even if she would not look inside the album. She looked at every picture and asked questions. All 80 pictures were of me either with him or with different family members.

At the end of the interview, they will probably give you a paper with 221(g) on it. This is normal for Casa. Read that paper carefully. It may say there is additional administrative processing, which is normal.

However, if the paper says anything about returning your case to USCIS, you will need to do some things right away, after you leave the consulate. You can get that information here in this forum if that happens. Not to worry you -- it's just good to be prepared for everything.

At the end of the interview, ask them what you should tell your wife. They do not usually issue a visa the same day. They usually do more security checks first. But they should be able to tell you how the interview went.

Good luck.
