My question is directed to those who have passed the different POEs in the USA:

Definitely "liquids" are prohibited for carry on luggages, what about for luggages to be checked in , does this also apply?

I have been to many asian countries and liquids are okay inside the luggages to be checked in, but of course USA is quite strict about it because recently my Aunt wanted to send a bottled herbal medicine to the US from the Philippines via DHL but they wont accept it, the post office refused too.

I want to bring a liquid chinese medicine that I have been using for along time now for my allergies but not sure if it will be allowed even if I check it in. It is in a plactic bottle ( like shampoo)

Your input is highly appreciated.

Thank you,

Myla

You can carry liquid items on your check in baggage, just dont bring too much because the Customs will charge you for Duty fee.

good thing you brought up about lactacyd lol, I wanna bring one too

you know what it lasted like 4 months i think lol... hate using other kind

I have been travelling in and out of US, liquids are okay as long as this is sealed and inside the luggages to be checked in.

You are allowed to carry on liquids if you follow the TSA rules for 3-1-1. This includes in or out of the Philippines. They are on the list of countries that allow this practice now.

Jim&Gemz is right. You can have liquids in your carry-ons but must not be more than 3 oz. per container (90ml) and you have to put it in a quart-sized zip-top bag (like a zip loc). I brought with me (carry-on) small mouth wash, small toothpaste, lens lubricant (30ml), and lip gloss and my POE is SFO. You can also bring liquid medicines on your carry-on if you really need to take it and have the medical prescriptions with you. And this things what and what not to bring were discussed during our CFO seminars and they also give handbooks (we paid for it) at Quirino Ave-CFO.

Even though the US allows 3 oz containers in a one quart bag, it was the Ninoy Aquino International Airport that did not allow it in my carry on earlier this year. US and Japan airports are fine as long as it meets the requirments.

Hi Pineapple,

Thank you for the kind words. I am happy that i somehow inspired you.

Actually I called the Malaysian Embassy first in Manila and asked for instructions on how to get a Police Clearance.

I sent 3 sets of a request letter with the following attachments ( all xerox copies)

1. My old passport contaning my Malaysian visas from 1995 to 1998

2.Identification Cards issued by the Malaysian Ministry of Health and the Hospital where I worked

3. Testimonial letters given by the doctors I have worked with in the operating room

4. Employment Certificate issued byt he hospital when I didnt renew my contract ; and

5. 10 copies of my payslips

I sent the request last week of March and by frist week of April it was already available for pick up. I only paid about P269.00. I personally picked it up when I was in Manila for my interview.

I suggest you call the embassy first so you know what to send. I hope this helps :)
