If I have one copy of my W-2, do I sent original with I-864 or should my wife have original for interview?

I have to wait to send the DS-230 until NVC actually generates it correct?

Thanks,

Joel

hey, it's always safe to send copies. You might still need the original and it's hard to obtain sometimes.

And yes, you have to wait until NVC generates DS230 after you paid the IV Bill. You need the barcode sheet, so either you generate this yourself using james' shortcuts (to be found in any of aussiewench's signatures) or you wait till you get it in the mail. You do have to wait for NVC to generate it though.

Hi,

I am sending a copy of the W2's and I am keeping the originals for the actual interview.

And yes, wait until they generate the ds-203 until you send it off. They will generate it the following Monday after you've paid that nice fee. ;) You will need a barcode if you send it in between the time of generation and the time it hits your mailbox.

Go to the NVC Shortcuts thread and find it on James' Shortcuts. I was a bit intimidated initially, but it's rather simple to create. Just follow the directions verbatim, and you will be OK.

I did it for my husband's DS-3032, and it was fine.

Good luck.

We are at the same stage you are at, apart from having to wait for our co-sponsor's birth certficate from NY State. Seems she has a typo which is holding things up a wee bit.
