How about we teach our children from the day they are born that natural things are natural and that there's absolutely nothing to be ashamed about anything that is natural.

The naked human body is natural. Eating, sleeping, pooping, and peeing are natural. Masturbation and sex are natural. Pregnancy, birth, and breastfeeding are natural.

If we could teach all of our children that all of these things are perfectly natural and nothing at all to be ashamed of, we could destroy hundreds of psychological issues, hang-ups, and "morality" issues in a single generation.

Wouldn't that be amazing?

If all natural urges are healthy, then how do you convince the mind of a child that some natural urges (such as the urge to engage in violence, deprive others of things you want, hide, lie etc) are less healthy than others?

Yeah, people in the US are just waaaaaaaaaaaay too hung up about the evils of nudity. I say, if you're comfortable bein' naked, hang up your clothes instead Yes, there is a time and place for everything, but the bigger deal you make out of it, the more self concious kids are going to be about it, which can lead to all kinds of other unhealthy hang ups.

I think Brittney walking around naked is the very least of her childrens' problems

The human body is the human body. My son let me know when he wasn't comfortable anymore b/c he started to change in his room. Personally. I feel that if there is too much emphasis placed on modesty and being ashamed, other hang-ups will inevitably arise from the taboo of it.

I have no problem being naked, unless it makes someone else uncomfortable.

For all you know, I could be au natural right now...

Being naked at home is cool. It's relaxing.

But in public? I'd never subject the public to that. They deserve better.

When I was a teen, my mother was constantly trying to sneek peeks at me in the shower and stuff, to see how I was developing. we would have screaming matches about the door being locked in the bathroom, or bedroom when I was trying to shower or change. I believe, i hid the developing thing, and refused to believe what was happening to me because, I was never given any guidance or education, when it came to puberty etc...I had low self esteem, and was a very awkward teenager.

I swore i was never going to put my kids through that. As an adult, my attitude changed about myself, and how I felt about myself. I never had a problem with full nor partial nudity,..I would quite often walk around the house naked. I still do. We lived in the tropics when the girls were little, so it was normal, for the less is more when it came to clothing. It was too damn hot to wear any most of the time,..LOL....Therefore, my kids grew up quite comfortable in the knowledge that nudity, or partial nudity was not a shameful thing, and very much natural. I did teach them of course, that because of public scrutiny that it to should for the best part be restricted to the house. They know when and where, and time and place. Even, my now hubby, the USC, was quite surprised when we first starting talking online with cams,..that most of the time, I walked around in a bikini top, and shorts. I would answer the door like that,..even go up the street, to the shops or whatever like that. I think living in a warm area too, it was more readily accepted, and generally, I think Australians are more relaxed generally about it. I asked him if it bothered him, and he was like hell no,...I like it, just not used to seeing it, because he said most American women are modest when it comes to that sort of thing.

My children, have grown up and gone through puberty, and adolescense. They are very comfortable with the changes their bodies went through, and are not distraught teens with emotional or self esteem issues. They knew what to expect from their bodies, and when. They also understand that their are differences in every persons, development, and growth, and things come in all shapes and sizes....literally.

I like to believe it was because of the way I dealt with it. I introduced them to natural beauty, showed them it was not something to be afraid of, and they are well adjusted as a result of this. they know what is normal, and what is not normal. hell, they even went with me, when I had my nipples pierced,...lol
