There is a lot of disagreement on the term 'north america'. Some consider Mexico part of it, some don't.

Back to the original subject, I think it's really a question of context and also age.

Let's be honest when we are kids unless we are told that you shouldn't see people naked we don't bloody care about it. At an early age you don't think nudity=sexuality.

I remember taking showers and bath with my parents when we were kids, it didn't seem abnormal to me and it was probably the only time I would see my parents naked anyway. I don't feel messed up by it or anything (although I could be who knows ).

My godparents used to go naked in the pool with their pre-teen kids, the aunt and uncle would to. At the time I was a teenager and not comfortable with the idea so I simply didn't do it. But it was all privately done and not with a purpose of offending others.

I think you shouldn't force nudity upon others without warning. But as for kids, if they are uncomfortable with it, I'm sure you'll know. I think the issue is that we look upon the situation as adults who view nudity as a sexual thing and therefore react according to that while kids just don't.

Here's how I see it...

Geographically, Mexico is within North America; however, culturally, it has far more in common with Central America. This is probably why various maps say different things. Depending on your point-of-view, Mexico could be either one.
