Banning Trolls at VJ

Let's just create a new group for Troll members, i.e.

"Members"

"Members, Organizer"

"Members, Moderator"

and "Members, Troll" (or just "Trolls") for trolls.

If people knew who the trolls were, they wouldn't waste time helping them.

One thing you have to understand is that many of the recent trolls that we have had here are actually long standing members with duplicate accounts.

And why are longstanding members allowed to troll ? How about a warning for these longstanding members and if they chose to do so again ban them.

It causes havoc on the board, longstanding member or not. I don't think they should get preferential treatment. We have lost many valuable non trolling members lately and it shows in advice not given.

If they are so bored maybe they can take up raising petunias instead.

Or hey they can even come over and wash my windows.

Too bad "banning" here actually means "Time Out".... I'd prefer that people were actually banned. IP banned. Especially for posts about timelines.

I notice my Lilith** account was banned this week....I don't consider I 'trolled' at all over the past few weeks....If there is serious trolling coming from long term members then surely ban the IPs. Problem solved....this has been an issue on this site for too long...of course there is preferential treatment. Admin know who the trolls are and yet they allow them to keep their 'long standing' accounts.

Please don't tell me "Charlie Brown," is a long standing member who gets a kick out of starting and maintaining a troll thread, then laughs at people who took the post seriously, then pops back a few weeks later to start the process again.

This isn't my site. I'm here to just spend some time with others in the same boat while waiting on my K1 process, tell a few jokes, and update my time line and share advice.

I seriously hope the admins and site owner's don't condone 'long standing members,' using multiple accounts to screw around with 'n00bs.'

I may be new to the board and to the visa process, but I was on the net while it was still mainly a university project and using BBS before that. This would be the first site I visited regularly where the people with 'power,' on the board condoned and laughed along with trolls.

Seriously, if people get a kick and laugh doing stuff like that they need to get a life.
