We have given them all the papers they asked for. I think they are doing a background check on my girl. They also said it will take 4-6 weeks.

First they said 1-2 weeks. After 2 weeks, now its 4-6 weeks. Does NOT sound good. Hope all goes well for both of us.

back ground check is very common as the reason while others don't have 1040 and was still approve and the visa is on her way.....

Background check usually involves name hits on NBI's database and on marriage indices at NSO... If that's the case, the longest period you will have to wait is 4-6 weeks... Hang in there... and yes, keep the faith.

Thats what probably happened to my friend too. She was interviewed Sept 13 , but until now the embassy has not released her visa. Lorraine said they are waiting for her fingerprints coming from the province ( my place) and to just wait :( A common name she said

Anyhow, goodluck , hang in there and keep the faith :)
