I read on this site that my fiance may be able to an EAD stamp if her POE is JFK. She wants to start working soon after she gets here (she already has an employer waiting to interview her). She is flying first from Hungary to JFK, then JFK to Boston, where I will be waiting. My question is which airport is the POE? Will she go through immigration in JFK or Boston? Should she ask for the EAD, or should she just wait and see if they give it to her?

I'm psyched! This will be next Sunday, September 30th.

Whoo Hoo!!!

JFK would be the POE. She'll go through immigration there so make sure time is budgeted to go through immigration and still make her connecting flight. I don't know how you'll sit still waiting for her to come. I'm a nervous wreck for you! Congrats!

Hi,

So what happened to your fiancé ? Did she get the temporary EAD stamp at JFK? How long did she wait?

I’m asking all these questions because I’m coming to USA with a K1 visa in a few weeks and wanted to know how much time should I budget for my connection flight.

I’m French, and my final destination will be San Francisco. But I’m definitely going through JFK to get the temporary EAD stamp. Do I have to ask for it? Is there any chance to not get it?

Times at the POE depend on the time of day you arrive and how many concurrent flights they are handling at the same time... It could be anywhere from 30 minutes to 3 hrs....
