I filed for the K-1 back in Mar 07. UCSIS didn't approve till May 07, NVC approved it in August 07, Seoul Embassy got it the last week of August. Filed for an interview online on Sept 6 and still have not heard back from anyone. I went to their site listing all the appointment dates, I see people who were issued case numbers after me already assigned an interview date. The dates have now moved into November. I requested an early October date, I am starting to think that I might not be able to get it.

Why does the embassy take so long?

I know it's hard to wait, but truthfully, you seem to be going through the process pretty fast. You got NOA2 in only two months. Well, good luck. I hope you get your interview date soon!

My biggest worry is that the interview request is taking so long. I was told it would take 2 weeks to get one...but now they are scheduling for Nov.

As you can see from my timeline that I don't have my interview date yet too. US Embassy in Tokyo won't give any information on when is the interview or when they received the case.

My husband called the Department of State for inquiry and the lady said that my case was just checked, reviewed and finally entered into the Embassy's system yesterday. She told my husband to call back again next week to find out the interview date.

You may want to call the DOS and ask. Department of State telephone number is (202) 663-1225,press1 then press0 and you will be connected to the operator.

Goodkuck,

KayArt
