Visa in hand

Thanks U Jesus!!!! My fiance recieved his visa today at 2.45pm Nigerian time. He will arrive in 10days

Kinda of confused folks so I got a couple of questions.:

1.I see alomost everyone going through JFK, is it becos of the temp EAD? Any other advantages??

2. For those of you with experience, if my fiance does go through JFK how much time should I give him before getting him a connecting flight?

3. Even if he does get the stamp, when we apply for the EAD&AOS will it be a "bad thing" that he has the EAD stamp.?

4. Also if he gets the stamp and a real good opportunity for a job with it , before the EAD card arrives will he have to stop working?

Any advice would really help!

Congrats!!! As far the EAD and POE, I do not have knowledge of POE through JFK, we went thru SFO and it wasn't difficult at all although he was the last one to leave immigration from that flight but I think 4-5 hours is sufficient time for him to catch his connecting flight.

I think the reason people use JFK is because of the issue surrounding transit visas. You get conflicting information as to whether your SO would need a transit visa ( for K-1/k-3) if they were connecting in amsterdam/london etc. In my case, we had the CR-1 visa and wanted to go through london and they said we would need to apply for the transit visa for him to be able to connect through london or amsterdam so we just did JFK because i didn't want to worry about him being sent back. JFK is also a POE that issues temporary EADs ( a plus for the k-visas).

I agree with Oomba in all her answers. As far as the POE, it is definitely because of the direct flight to the US. In our case, it would have been easier to fly Air France through Paris as they have non=stop flights from Paris to Washington, but we did not want to have a problem/delay with the Transit Visa.

Congratulations and God Bless you both. I would recommend JFK, because I used it. It took me 8mins to get through the immigration. I did DCF, so I don't know so much about fiancée visa, but one thing I will advice you to use direct flight to avoid stories.
