Well you have to take into consideration that some offices are more busy (not to say backlogged) than other. Your case might be ready, but they might be too busy to get to your case yet. They could still be doing a few months ago.

If you look at the average time line for your office it says: 140 days until approval in the last year... And even more if you do it 'forever'. It could just be that you have a busy office (mine says 180 days <_<).

Infopass appointment can't hurt. You should ask them what months they are currently processing, it will give you an idea on how long you have to wait.

08.2006: Entered with a B-2 visa.

07.06.07: Civil Wedding

07.17.2008 AOS approved with interview. It took 367 Days!

11.08.08: Big family wedding

09.18.09-10.03.09: First trip to France with Hubby

I-751

04.19.10: Package sent to Vermont

04.21.10: Delivered in Vermont

04.22.10: NOA date

04.23.10: Check cashed

05.17.10: Received biometrics appointment letter

06.07.10: Biometrics Appointment

Yeah i noticed it was 140 days until approval in the last year....... but then dropped to 97 days until approval in the last 6 months. Getting an InfoPass appt at Omaha is very easy, so i thought maybe their interview schedules weren't busy either. An IO i spoke to says that Omaha local office isnt one of the busy offices though.

May I ask how you know your namecheck is back?

Because there are two steps - fingerprint check and namecheck.

Sure RJ, there was a delay getting my EAD, i had went to an InfoPass and was asked for my A# coz i had forgotten to put it on my application, so the IO sent it off in an email along with an enquiry as to why my EAD was taking so long. Almost 2 weeks went by and nothing, so i called USCIS, my call was escalated to an IO who dealt with my problem, she asked me if i had been for my AOS interview yet...of course i told her No, that i hadn't been sent one out yet, so she asked for my MSC#, a few mins later she came back.....she says Mrs X i don't understand why you haven't received your interview date yet because your namecheck has come back and completed. She then went on to advise me to make an InfoPass appt to find out when i would likely be scheduled an interview date, she also said that Omaha Local Office isnt very busy either and didn't understand what the problem was.

I hope you don't have to wait as long as me.

1. That is not helpful to the OP.

2. You aren't the spouse of a USC.

I'm just guessing, but maybe they start every inquiry early. Some people finish the name check before the interview because they have a unique name or whatever, that doesn't get any "hits". The more frequent names have a longer name check that drags on and one, before, during and after the interview. Just a wild guess.

Hmm, I would venture a guess that it would be easier to get all the other paperwork out of the way, so the moment the name check is complete, they could just order card production right away.

Wish we could help with the name checks, hey, I could spare some time on weekends helping their backload and relieving all the suffering people waiting for tooo long!
