Hello Captain!

I wanted to report a little glitch that left me very, very puzzled yesterday.

I am a May K-1 Visa filer and my adjudication date had varied greatly. Most recently it had been Sept. 24th for AGES. Then, all of a sudden, day before yesterday, I looked and it had changed from Sept. 24th to NOVEMBER 16th!! I was very puzzled as I hadn't done anything with my timeline at all. Ironically, we were approved yesterday, the 20th of September. So all is well with us, but I thought if this happened on other people's timelines, they'd most likely freak out. I know you've been working with different approaches to make the adjudication date as accurate as possible. I just don't know what happened to make it jump so wildly and so ERRONEOUSLY.

As an aside... thank you so much for keeping the site so user-friendly. It has made this very difficult process relatively easy, thanks to the step-by-step instructions, advice, etc. It's one of the best organized, most well-maintained sites I've ever been a part of. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Well, the adjudication dates here at VJ are not official and are only there as a rough guide. They should not be depended on as a timeline for members planning weddings, flights or anything else important. Members also shouldn't stress if the dates go up or down, it isn't connected to USCIS in any official capacity.

The dates fluctuate as members fill in their timelines. It happens.

I wish that feature would go away. There are SO MANY hysterical posts about it, daily.

I think the timeline adjudication estimate can be beneficial as long as members here take it for what it is: an unofficial rough guideline unconnected to USCIS.

Right. I understand that. I think most people understand that. It's just that when you're in the middle of waiting for your NOA2, it's nice to be able to have some sort of target date... and the adjudication date here at VJ provides that. Everyone knows it's not official and it's more or less a little "benefit" of filling in your timeline. But since we DO have it and it IS an ongoing issue with regards to how to calculate the dates, I thought it might be helpful to post my experience, as it was quite unusual.

And my point was, THEY DON'T. They all think it's legit & when it dares change, they make posts like, #######? OMG MY DATE IS DIFFERENT? Why?????????? :crying::crying::crying:

This includes those people who have called the USCIS asking them which of the dates on the notice is there NOA1 and should use to input on the timeline

YMMV

People have actually called the USCIS with that question? I must have missed that thread.

It is good to see that the initial estimates were within four days of what it ended up being :). Sometimes the dates will vary some as data is entered in the system. Your case seems to be the exception in terms of date changes. I will take a look to see if I can spot any areas to improve things and feel free to give any ideas that you may have to me directly via PM or here :).
