To update that a CS office just told me she'll need MMR, vericella (spelling?) and tetanus. I'm no where close on vericella. It's suggestions I spell it vermicelli =/

How do I check if this is right before we go to the county office to do it?

Thanks a ton in advance for your help!

The local county health department should let you know what shots your wife needs. If she has no records (as my wife did) they will administer updates or start the series new. After my wife received her shots they gave her and my stepson a "yellow" vaccination shot record . I than took that shot record to the CS and the nurse transfered those shot records to the I 693 A Vaccnination supplement form and the CS signed them. At the time of the interview they did ask for my I 693 A form. By the way my stepson had his China school record of shots and I had a Chinese resident translate the shots he had and the nurse at the local Health department transferred those records to his "yellow" shot USA record.

If aged 18 -64 she will need MMR, TD and varicella. In other words, measles mumps rubella, tetanus diptheria and chicken pox. The varicella (chicken pox) vaccine wont be given if she had these as a child.

Without medical records, is there any way to prove she had chicken pox when she was a kid? I mean, can't they do like a scratch test with a chicken or something. That one seems annoying :( (because she definitely knows she had them, but no record anymore). For that matter, I was born and grew up in U.S., and I don't have medical records that go back far enough to prove I had chicken pox. Doctors all leave the state and then country because the HPMPHPO's always are not paying for their decisions.

By the way, I noticed on some timelines people send the I-693A later and not with the original packet. Is this a normal thing to do?

this may sound funny...i also didn't have any medical records with me when i had my medical done in my country. The physician in charge of immunization requirements asked me if I had any chicken pox scars to prove that I had it before. I did and she was satisfied with it. Ofcourse I dont know if chicken pox scars would be enough proof over here.

btw...error in my last post...had a shot for tetanus or Td (not dpt)

Rather than start a new post, I think asking here would be appropriate. I hope. The vaccination form my hubby has from Morocco has the exact same info as the I-693 supplement. Do we really have to go through the hastle of having it transfered? I mean, it was the EXACT same info required on both forms.

BT

If I cause offense it is not on purpose, think about that before you take offense. If you feel offended, consider that maybe I'm not talking about you and maybe I accidentally stumbled onto a sore area and do not know. Thank you.

You may slip by as others claim to have BUT!!!

Why take chance?

FEDERAL REGISTER INTERIM REGULATIONS at USCIS

"C. Medical Examinations

According to 8 CFR 245.5, aliens seeking to adjust status are required to undergo a medical examination performed by a designated civil surgeon to determine whether they are inadmissible under section 212(a)(1)(A) of the Act. To date, applicants for K nonimmigrant visas have been required to obtain a medical examination abroad pursuant to Department of State regulations at 22 CFR 41.81 prior to entry, and the medical examination is not repeated if they apply for adjustment of status within 1 year of the dat e the examination was performed. They are, however, required to submit with the adjustment of status application a vaccination assessment completed by a designated civil surgeon in order to establish their compliance with the vaccination requirements under section 212(a)(1)(A)(ii) of the Act.

The Service will continue this same policy for the K-3/K-4 nonimmigrants. K-3/K-4 nonimmigrants who file their adjustment of status application within 1 year from the date of the medical examination overseas will not have to submit an additional medical examination. However, the Service notes that applicants whose medical examinations overseas revealed a “Class A” or “Class B” condition (as defined by 42 CFR 34.2( B ) ) must establish upon application for adjustment of status that they complied with those cond itions imposed on the initial admission. Failure to comply with those conditions means that a new medical examination

Some service centers are also requiring the TB skin test also.

You can try. I did. But.... got a RFE at my interview for the supplement even though all my vacc's were current. What I have noticed is that they have become a bit stricter in the last 12 months with the vaccination supplement. When I first applied for AOS it was a bit hit and miss whether they would require the new one or not, now it seems to be the norm to have it.
