Paddington Bear Loves Marmite

I thought I'd share this rather funny commercial of Paddington Bear trying Marmite instead of Marmalade on his sandwhiches. It has caused a little controversy in the UK as traditionalists have accused Paddington of selling out and that a bear of genuine integrity would not forsake the sugary sweetness of orange cut marmalade, seriously - http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/7002615.stm.

For those who don't know what Marmite is I copied this from Wikipedia -

Marmite is a British and New Zealand savoury spread made from yeast extract, a by-product of beer brewing.

Both the British and New Zealand versions are sticky, dark brown pastes with a distinctive, powerful taste that polarises consumer opinion but the recipes are different. This distinctive taste is reflected in the British company's marketing slogan: "Love it or hate it". It is similar to the Australian Vegemite and Swiss Cenovis, and is suitable for vegetarians and vegans, while Bovril is not.

Edit: I tried to insert the You Tube video directly into this post but didn't seem to be able to do it. So I'll just paste the link to the webpage instead.

Try Vegemite. It is better..

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Nope, Vegemite is a cheap Aussie knock-off. Marmite is the real deal.

The mistake people make with Marmite is that they use too much. Really a TINY amount does the job. Actually, I could never eat Marmite and not miss it, but I don't hate it either.

Vegemite is just gross though...ick

My dad is somone who takes a bite first then ask questions later. Once my aunt was sent a jar of marmite from an English exchange student and she put some on a piece of toast and gave it to my dad.

It is the only time I ever saw my dad spit something out and he ran out of the room to wash out his mouth. He then accused his sister of trying to kill him.

Man, that was a funny scene. hehe
