Moon, this is really a hard blow. Take the time to grieve and feel sad, then pray for strength and move forward. You want your husband here, you fight for him and don't give up! I would figure that time spent in Libya would be an automatic red flag for our government, especially now. Just keep positive and faithful and let God work his wonders. Words cannot say how sorry I am and to tell you that things will work themselves out and to be patient it's hard for me to say this to you because I wouldn't want to be patient I would want my husband here now as I know you surely do. You just have to put it in God's hands sometimes God doesn't make things happen when we want but that doesn't mean he has turned his back on you he will make it happen at the right time and before you know it you will be reunited with your husband. This may be a stupid question but I just have to ask. Why would Libya be a red flg to our government? What's the big deal that Moon's husband was there? I just don't understand.

Libya has ties to terrorism so of course our government might be more cautious when dealing with someone who has lived there.

Moon, at least you know the reason he is on AP and hopefully it won't last long. I know it's hard, but you will have nothing to worry about if he wasn't involved in terrorist activities. Good luck, girl!

I didn't know that about Libya though right before I read this thread I had asked my husband about Libya and he said the same thing as Lovin Liberia.

That is excatly where i am at tonight. Trying to get over the inital shock of this.....I have cryed so much that my eyes are swollen twice the size and have turned almost purple.....Dont know what they will look like in the mor..........I do have one Question.......On my Husbands paper that they gave him......they state that it should not take longer then 6 months......Do they do that will all the papers ??? Or is it because of the type of investagation they are doing???

The 6 months was just an estimate. Our CO said about 3 months...........well here we are 9 months later.

But with your security check it is out of the embassy's hands now and it may be sooner than 6 months or a little later. No one can predict that.

Just keep cultivating your relationship with love and communication. Be creative. Send packages, maybe make plans for another visit.

I am so sorry for your disappointment. My advice is to trust in God. And keep on top of the governmental agencies handling this so nothing slips through the cracks. They may not be able to tell you anything, but just calling them will keep your case fresh on their minds. Also, it might not hurt to contact your senator. Not sure he can do anything, but it never hurts. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!

As everyone here, I am also sorry this has happened to you AND YOUR HUSBAND. I remember reading some of your post in the past, and they were always optimistic you often encouraged people when they were down, distraught or just having a bad day. What I am saying is don't just listen to us, of course we want the best things to happen for one another, but, go over some of your previous post and use that same encouragement and strength to pick up your boot straps and move forward.

Senator will not be able to do anything at this point. Should the wait become unreasonably long then a congressional inquiry may

help get a more detailed answer but won't shorten the time.

As I have posted in another post I have called the NVC office in Washngton DC. I was told that they were doing one last security check.....thay called/ said that as far as they are concerned that the interview was a sucess.....But that due to the fact that he was in Libya they are doing one more security check.......They already got the case today and sent it out right away so the investagation has already started.......My question is this?? If I dare hope that it will not take long am I sitting my self up for total dissapointment????? I talkd to 6 different people in the office and they were reasuring me that this should not take long due to the fact that they only have one thing to check out......We had all other information and docs.........I am wanting to belive that because they started on so fast and that it is being done here in the states and not in Lagos that there might be a better chance of it getting done faster???? Am I Sitting myself up for a fall????

Moon, I totally agree with what the other posters said about how positive and helpful you have been to all of us in the past few months. Please go back and read some of that! I think you should continue to stay positive and hope for the best. I guess it is a possiblity that you will be disappointed again, but nothing you do or say will change that, so you might as well be positive and expect the best!!! I'm sure it will all work out. Is another visit possible in the next few months? If so, that would give you something great to look forward to. If not, like Oomba said, you can send some packages or do something special for each other. You and your husband are in my thoughts and prayers.
