Unfortunately, this is fairly common with the USCIS. They obviously have a bunch of (poorly) trained chimps going over the applications.

I recall one person on here a few months ago who got an RFE for something he had sent in the original I-129F application. He got another copy of the item and send it back to them again. They then denied his application because they said it was missing, even though he had sent it to them twice. He wrote a really nasty (but funny) letter (that he posted online here for us all to read) and sent it to them, knowing he had nothing to lose at that point. The letter pointed out their incompetence, and asked why he had received an RFE, then a denial for something he had provided twice. They sent him back an NOA2 in reply (no explanation given).

Now THAT definitely sounds like VJ urban legend...

Aw #######, I was afraid someone was going to say that. Now I'm going to have to go hunt the thread down...

I'll vouch for the thread in question :lol: he was as game as taking that stand and it could of backfired on him and the petition.

Actually by the timing that the individual sent the letter, it is my beliefe that they approved the petition before they would have received the letter...

What would have happened if they would have getten the letter before they approved.. who knows..

Treat them as if they're six year olds. When my fiance phoned up to ask if they had our RFE the woman he spoke to say they 'maybe had' and that he should send it again 'just in case'. He was worried we would miss the deadline on the RFE because we had been waiting so long to hear if they had got it, she waved the deadline away as meaningless. Loads of people have RFE's for things they've already sent. All you can do is resend the passport photocopy, send the evidence of meeting again and perhaps include a couple more things.

If it helps, I only sent a copy of the page in my passport with US stamps on, 2 photos of us together and some boarding pass stubs as evidence we met. I did send some envelopes from letters postmarked over the past couple of years with both of our addresses on (I sent ones with return address on front and postmarks clear) and a screenshot of my email inbox (with emails pretty much every day from my fiance for the past 4 years!), but I don't think this evidence of an ongoing relationship is needed until your interview.

I remember that thread too. The gentleman was awfully rude but they had messed him about so bloody much!!!

When you sent the copies of your passport, did you include the pages with the Entry/Exit stamps?

Did you submit a copy of your passport as proof of citizenship, or did you also submit a copy of your Birth Certificate?

What evidence did you submit to prove you met? Did you submit copies of boarding passes, passport stamps, hotel receipts, and photos?

Before you (or anyone else) start blaming "them", make sure you provided the proper and correct amount of evidence!

:time:

I used the passport as proof of citizenship. I do not have a birth certificate.

We have not met in person. jUst video confrence calls over the net and phones, im.

I wrote all of this down. I am a political refugee, and cannot return to Iran. If I do so. I coudl be at worst jailed, at best serve for 2 years in the army. Us meeting in another country woudl cost me in exess of 5g for the 1 visit, in which case, due to our religion, all we can do is talk with family in a public or private place.

I have only visited germany and sending them blank pages is pointless. I asked their phone before and they told me the front page with all th einfo is all they need.

I did not include the phone stuff. But i have the bills now. Am getting everythign i can.

I suggest resubmitting the evidence again too and maybe do a cover note explaining what you have submitted etc. Please fill in your timeline as this is very important for the statistics section of this forum, and it helps other members to answer your questions if they can see how far along you are and which consulate. Thank you

will do. My uncle is going to call them and talk to them as he is better at this stuff then I am.

The funny part is I included what their asking for. I also highlighted the information?

any idea?

I agree with others, things do get misplaced or lost. IF you already submitted all that they have requested in the RFE then my advice is to resubmit the evidence of having met in the required 2 years. Or is their request more ambiguous then that? Perhaps if you post exactly what the RFE stated we may be able to assist more. As for the passport, it is my understanding that when being submitted with a petition for proof of US citizenship then it must be copies of every page, including the blank pages, and also front and back cover. Is this what you submitted?

I claled them and they said to onlyu send the frotn page with the information. including the blank pages is silly. good thing I made 2 copies of all the information i sent.

There has been RFE's for all pages to be sent including the blank pages. Just keep in mind that when one calls and speaks to an operator it is more often then not referred to as the misinformation line.

On the evidence side of things. Have you provided documentary proof of being a political refugee? Have you sent documentary proof of not being able to meet in a third country? Finances doesnt make the cut as a reason according to many prior denials. Have you provided documentary proof of why your fiance cant come to the US to meet you there? From reading all the denials on the USCIS site to have the meeting within the 2 year requirement waived, you will have to have documentary proof to support your case, not just a statement from you.
