I am applying for the K-1 visa. My fiance and i met online 1 year ago. Do you think that we would look down on for having met on the computer? We met in person 1 month ago. Im just worried if they would question our "real love" for eachother. I also dont want to lie on the application

Hello. Meeting your fiance online is not a problem as most of us here have met our love online. You just need to establish proof of you two meeting in person so please make sure you provide the necessary evidence. That is all the officer is concerned with. If you have met in person, then you should have the evidence needed to prove a bona fide relationship, that is what is needed at this point. Best of luck to you on your journey.

My husband & I met online as well and only in February. I provided letters from 2 of my friends that knew about the relationship from the day Jim and I met as well as some copies of messages sent online, copies of phone bills, pictures and I wrote my own letter explaining how we met, how I felt about the whole thing, the first time we met, etc. If you send as much evidence as possible with the petition, there's not a lot of reason they should doubt you or send you a RFE (Request for more Evidence). Good luck!

This is correct for the petition stage. Start building your evidence of bona fide relationship between petition filing and the visa interview.

A lot of people here met online initially. I don't think that is a problem. You should not try to hide that in anway or be ashamed of it in anyway. You have to prove that you have a relationship and include phone bills, emails, IM conversations, letters, cards.

I'm sure the mass majority of the cases the USCIS see for K1 visas have to do wth online romance. I would hardly be concerned. You are in good company. :)
