I had a similar situation. I only sent recent bank statements to prove my last 6 paychecks. But I sent tax returns for 2years and an explaination why I didn't file taxes for the 3rd year, complete with the correct IRS document (from online) that states why I didn't have to file.

Opps I just re-read your question. I would include that info for the sponsor too...that way you won't be delayed if they decide they want the information.

saratara,

The sponsor does not have to submit previous 3 years tax returns/transcripts - only the most recent (which for most of us is 2006) - the instructions state "You must provide either an IRS transcript or a photocopy from your own records of your Federal individual income tax return for the most recent tax year. If you believe additional returns may help you to establish your ability to maintain sufficient income, you may submit transcripts or photocopies of your Federal individual income tax returns for the three most recent years."

Whether the sponsor needs to submit a bank statement depends on the sponsor (and how much money is in the bank).

Hope this helps..

or... you can get a co-sponsor and attach the extra documents.

as for the bank statements... I do not know if they help. If they are your shared bank accounts, that would help (evidence of living together and sharing your property).

Good luck!

If current income is sufficient, there is no need to mention assets. Just skip those questions. If you state money in the bank, then back it up with bank statements as evidence.

So, it doesn't depend on how much money is in the bank. It depends on whether income is sufficient or assets are needed to qualify.
