My wife & I filed our I-130 at the Texas SC August 23. When I filled out my G-325a forms, I got my Dad's birthday wrong! I put the 23rd of the month instead of the 28th.

We still haven't recieved our first NOA, I can't help thinking that my mistake will mean that it will be returned un-processed.

We payed by money order too, so I can't find out if the payment has been accepted or not.

I would kick myself but I guess my Dad will do that for me when he finds out that I don't know when his birthday is.

Does anyone have any ideas that might mean that the last few weeks won't have been a complete waste of time?

All the best everyone

I wouldn't worry about the mistake with your father's birthday. On the form it says Date, City, and Country of Birth (If Known). I didn't realize until afterward that I made a mistake with the city where my mother was born. She was born in Wichita Kansas and I put Hutchison {for some reason I always get them mixed up} and I had no problems at all, not even an RFE.

As far as the money order goes, there should be some kind of an 800 # on your receipt that you can call to find out if the money order has been cashed. Of course, it could depend on what kind of money order you got. I don't know if the USPS money orders have that on there, but I know the Western Union and the Moneygram ones do.

I wouldn't worry about the date to much...my husbands mother and father never celebrated their birthdays so they only knew the year they were born and I was worried until I talked to my lawyer and he told me that the year is fine. :) I hope this will put your mind at ease. :)

i made a stupid mistake on my I-130 and after i realized it, I called USCIC and the lady on the phone fixed it for me. She told me it will take 45 days to process the change but nothing to worry about.

I doubt that will be a huge problem. I think they use it as part of the background check, but I can't imagine that such a mistake would be any huge problem. It's not like you forgot your wife's birthday, then you'd be in trouble. I think you can call USCIS and change it. And maybe that touch will get them to look at your case.
