Hello all, Just a little background. I met my boyfriend through my sister-in-law this past April and wanted to do the fiance visa, only to find out that his dad had filed the I-130 for him in 2000. His priority date has become current and a visa number has become available. The paper trail has started and as you can see from my timeline the process. His father paid the AOS fee bill and now has received the AOS packet. He has asked me to be a joint sponsor because he has sponsored a couple of his kids before. I agreed but have some questions. I filled out the I-864 but what do I check in part 1 question d or e? I live in a completely different state and wanted to know if that is alright? I earn enough to be the only sponsor. Is it possible for me to do that?

So far I have

---completed AOS form

---copies of tax transcripts for the last three years

---I will copy the last six months of paystubs

---Plan to get employment verification letter

What else do I need? :help:

Thanks in advance for all your help.

Your VJ sis

Claire

His father is the main sponsor. He's the petitioner. You are the joint sponsor. If there are no other sponsors involved except for you and his dad, you check d - you are the only joint sponsor.

Living in a different state is completely okay.

That's very cool and should be enough!

By "AOS form" you mean I-864, right?

Filed AOS from F-1
Green Card approved on 01/04/07
Conditions removed 01/29/09

Citizenship Oath 08/23/12

Thanks Sid and Nancy for your reassurance. Yes I meant I-864 when I wrote AOS form.
