I just checked the NVC requirement for my country and Naples that was standard processing until last week is now NVC appointment... is that good or bad, well, now I'll have to hurry up and get all the docs, sign the other forms and send them to my wife... why are these things changing... what's happening?

You guys using JSC be careful and crosscheck your process before you send anything...

Okay guys, really important:

WHEN DID THIS CHANGE TAKE EFFECT??

I mailed off my DS-230 for Helsinki last Wednesday, Sept 12. The automated message says it's being reviewed. I submitted it according to standard processing. Am I completely screwed now? What are the odds that I got it in just before they made the switch?

So far we know for sure that it wasn't on the official immigration site the 8th September but it was there the 19th. We do not know when it officially took into effect. It could have been a few weeks ago or it could change for next month or whatever. We do not know. This is sucky indeed :(...

Please call the NVC and ask them whether or not your case will be appointment processing, as I believe this is a recent change! I called last night and they told me that I didn't need to worry about it, all my case required was the DS-230 pt 1 and biographical information.

PLEASE call them! If we can get a cut off date for cases that will need to submit the additional documents for Appointment Processing this will be very helpful for those members who are hoping to use James' Shortcuts!

When did you get your instruction? The very first time I checked the whole NVC Processing was back in May when my case was moved to NVC and read through JSC where I got the link for Manila consulate (USEM) DS230. Upon reading that, I already requested my husband for all the documents necessary for the IV processing.

thats what happened in my case. i have to rush in preparing every document that they nvc asked to be attached when in fact, when my husband received the instruction from nvc, it didnt say that i have to submit it. i guess, my case will take long at the nvc. i wont be expecting a november sched of interview anymore... :crying: i only sent it today via fedex. and it will reach my husband on monday. :(

Don't be confused. IF you follow the link (see below) when you submitted your DS230, you are good. Everyone of us going through Manila consulate has to go through the same processing~ to submit all the necessary civil documents of the applicant, DS230 Part1 (signed) and Part 2(unsigned). :)

We just got the real DS-230 note (we used James' shortcuts earlier) and no where on that note did they list anything regarding which method we should use. Should we mail everything to the NVC or just the DS-230 part I & the passport thinggy. We do know that the NVC site changed between the 8th and the 19th of September. From here on I recommend that everyone else sends everything in to NVC when using James' shortcuts with the exception of the followin 25 consulates. Altough, beware, also the processing of these consulates will likely change soon.

the letter from NVC that was sent to my husband didnt say that we have to also include in sending the DS230 the MC, BC, police clearance, etc. it says only that i have to have it ready for the interview at the manila embassy. we only found out that we need to submit it only when my husband called the nvc to check the status of my case.

im so sad. it means my case will again be delayed. i am hoping that my case will be complete as soon as possible at nvc. i hope i will still have an early december interview since i already lose hope having november date.

Hi prettyfacenbody,

The letter actually does not list one by one what you need to submit with your DS-230. Please see below of how the letter stated the requirements for DS230 processing.

Each traveling applicant must now complete Applicant Document Processing. Please go to the Department of State website at the following address: http://Travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_1335.html. Click on the Applicant Document Processing link and follow the instructions.

The link will take you the NVC DS230 requirements based from our country of cosulate: Manila, Philippines.

Try to get your requirements with the DS230 submitted before the 10th of October to still make it to November or early December interview.

Good luck!

~ Rina
