Hello, My wife has her biometrics appointment set. The appointment is set for 8:00 that morning and its a 2 hour drive to the office. I have to work later that day, so my question is, is the appoinment really at 8? or is it one of those deals similar to the consulate where everyones appointment is at 8 and you take a number and wait?

if so, I would like to hear some personal experiences to see how long it usually takes to get through everyone just incase we are late.. is it something that stretches past noon? I might just take the gamble and see if I can get back in time, i dont want to miss a day of work.. Thanks in advance for your replies!

My wife had her biometrics appointment at 8:00 on a Saturday and when we arrived it was evident that all appointments where at 8:00. It only took us an hour to get through it, but since we live almost 2 hours away I wish I had known as we left very early in the am, and by 9:00 there was no line and anyone could have just walked up and had it done without wait. This was in Ft Lauderdale FL.

Tampa looked like they scheduled them on the hour, but we got there late and had to wait foreverrrr b/c the ASC was more concerned with their breakfasts. Got there at 9:30 and didn't get out of there until noon. I had to call into work.

My biometrics was scheduled for 11:00am in Omaha,NE which was a 2 hour drive away. The rush hour morning traffic into Omaha at that time in the morning is horrendous so we left at 8:00am. Arrived there just after 10:00 filled in a form, got taken 5 mins later, and was out and finished by 10:30am.

Separated!!

Claudeth had to wait about an hour for her EAD but the AOS only took 10 minutes. Guess it depended on how busy they were

My husband's appointment was at 8 or 8:30 in Orlando, FL. I can't remember the exact time. Anyway, we arrived about 20 minutes early - the office is only about 30-40 minutes from our house.

We walked in and there were tons of other people. My husband presented his letter and we were in and out in about 20 minutes.

(It happened over the summer as soon as school was out - so I didn't miss work). But had I worked only half a day there wouldn't have been a problem.

It all depends on how busy the office is - I was in and out of our ASC.

As for the ID question - I'm sure the passport, even with her maiden name, will suffice, - a lot of people use passports for ID purposes. I had a DL myself, so I don't know for sure, but this is my best guess. Maybe she can take a copy of your marriage certificate with her to explain the name change.

My biometric appt was at 11 am on friday Sept 7at Baltimore MD. I got side track at home becouse I had broken my glasses and needed them to drive. I therefore decided to use crasy glue....BAD IDEA... by the time I was done playing with it it was 10:15 am... I ran out the door and drove like crasy women!!!

That day started on the wrong note for me. To make matter worst finding a parking space was a nightmare.... Finally after running 3 block under the hot sun I show up more than 10' late, sweaty and upset....

I got inside appologized for being late and begging for a water fountain. The officer sitting at the front office was very nice and told not to worry about it. He did asked for my passport and the appointment letter.

He gave me a form to complet and check my hand for any cuts. I barrely sat 15' when I was called.

The lady that took care of me was not only nice but also patient: She had a really hard time getting an accurate clear image of my fingers because i had crasy glue on my hands. She used 3 different lotions to try to get it out.... every time she would try to get a better image the quality of it was very poor between 50 0/0 and 60 0/0 clear.

Finally the made me peel the tip of my fingers and was able to get a better picture.

She also took 3 different picture and made me choose the one I like the best.

Beside the glue part the whole experience was fine.... I was done by 11:45.
