guys if you use a co-sponser for I-134 for K-3 does that person have to be living in the same house as you? also does it have to be a blood relative. thanks.

also if you wanted to use your bank balance to be included in your income..how do you go about doing that. i mean how do you meet the difference between the income.

no your co-sponsor does not need to live in the same house as you

you can get a certified letter from your bank with your balance, i dunno i didnt use that, someone else may be able to shine light on that one

I've read in other posts that income is what they're looking at, and that they don't really take into account bank balances, assets owned, etc. I've heard that as long as the income requirement is met by you and/or your sponsor(s), then you're good.

You may add the cash value of your assets such as money in savings accounts, stocks, bonds, and property. To determine the amount of assets required to qualify, subtract your household income from the minimum income requirement (125 percent of the poverty level for your family size). You must prove the cash value of your assets is worth five times this difference (the amount left over).

Example for a household size of 4:

125 percent of 2006 poverty guideline $25,000

sponsor's income - $19,500

Difference $5,500

Multiply by 5 x 5

Minimum Required Cash Value of Assets $27,500

In terms of how to show your bank account info, from the I134 instructions:

Statement from an officer of the bank or other financial institutions where you have deposits, identifying the following details regarding your account:

1. Date account opened;
2. Total amount deposited for the past year;
3. Present balance
