Medical at Knightsbridge

Hi, I just wanted to give you a quick run down of my medical appoinment.

I phoned on the 3rd & was given an appointment on the 7th at 10:10am...very quick I thought.

My wife & I arrived at the Knightsbridge tube station at 9:20am. We stopped for a bite to eat & some coffee.

Got to the doctors office right at 10:00. Was told to go straight up to the top floor-the receptionist there gave me a questionaire to fill out. Within 5 minutes of sitting down, I was called for an x-ray then was called pretty shortly thereafter by the nurse who said I had to have two injections (Tetnis & MMR).

The receptionist then sent us to the second floor where we waited to see the doctor. We were in the waiting room for about 20 minutes-then the doctor called me in.

She did a general exam & sent me on my way.

Went back upstairs & paid for the honour of being jabbed (god I love it).

We were there for right at an hour.

I was told that the embassy would have my medical exam results by Thursday (16th April).

So that's that...one more step closer to being able to move to Texas

All in all, it was a fairly straight foward simple process.

Sorry if this isn't very detailed...my wife normally posts these things (but she made me do it as it was me who had the appointment) .

Now we just wait for the interveiw date :D

gosh that was a fast appointment! I've got my MMR and tetanus booked at the GP surgery for the 26th of this month and I was gonna call Knightsbridge and get an apointment but I dont want one THAT quick! I want to make sure I have all my vaccinations listed (which the surgery said I cud get as soon as I have the 2 I need for AOS) Do they give you choices as far as dates go?

I don't want to wait and wait to call and delay things so if you can say when u can go (ie, after a certain date and not before) - do they go by that? Or it 'take this or nothing' kinda deal?

Hi,

I'm not sure what they go by as far as booking...I'm guessing that they just put you in the nearest available. If you know when you'll have all of your vaccinations, you could call & make an appointment for after that mabye-the receptionist was very nice so I don't think it would hurt to try. At least you'd know you have one rather than waiting until the last minute

Wish I'd gone for the jabs at my GP...would have been about £60.00 up if I'd thought about it

They are quite flexible with dates. When I booked they wanted to give me one that week and when i said it was a little too soon they offered me one the following week.

Good Luck
