i do home daycare for a job. but i do not currently have any health insurance for myself as i have been taken off ex hubbys health insurance when the divorce was final.

i have married dirk from germany and beginning soon my k3 and k4 for his daughter. so what i am wondering i always see things about public charges ect. welfare. ect.

but a friend told me it is not wise for me to not have health insurance obviously and i work for self so i dont have any. i was calling to call family health plus which is a program in new york state to help those with no health care insurance. will this be a problem for me doing a spouse visa?? will see me as not able to provide dirk health insurance and deny us??

Issue of health insurance (or lack thereof) was never a question that was brought up at anytime for us.

oh good! also another question .. i will drive you all bonkers i think i am sorry !!!

last year and the years before i filed joint federal income tax returns with my ex husband. we were married then and the first year we were seperated we filed filed joint that year too. i baby sat at the time a couple of children for alittle income but nothing on the books.

when we became seperated i got licensed for doing daycare in my home so this will be the first income tax return i can use as my own on the books. when immigration ask to see income tax returns i can not use the ones with my ex husband correct? and i will only have one this january for me showing my income. and i dont get weekly paystubs! i do daycare . so what will i do or show then i wonder? anyone know?

All three years of my tax returns that I used were filed jointly with my ex. We had been separated for several years but still filed joint. We didn't have any problems with that but, of course, my income was way above the income requirements. The returns may not be relevant if your income is too low.

Right. It isn't mentioned on financial documents and I've never heard of it coming up at interview. Getting it is a good idea but not part of the visa process.

Ok, this is one of those places where timelines are going to be important. You posted this in the K3 forum but you hvaen't filed any petitions yet. I know from another thread that you may want to consider skipping the K visa process.

You'll want to look carefully at the instructions for both the I-134 and the I-864 because you'll eventually file the I-864 for AOS or sooner for CR visas.

While joint tax returns are not a problem it is your income that is looked at. If you were off the books until this year, then you may have some difficulty meeting the documentation requirements for self employed people and need a joint sponsor. Joint tax returns with no reported income for you don't provide supporting evidence of your income.
