Going to local office for emerg. AP without infopass appt?

I'm going to the Hartford office tomorrow with papers in hand to see if I can get an emergency AP.

I've been trying to get an info pass appointment for the past month but nothing has been available and now, the only ones available are at the end of the month. My flight is scheduled for Thursday.

Has anyone gone in without an infopass appointment? I'm prepared to wait as long as I have to, I'm just curious if they'll even let me through the door.

Should I save myself the hour long drive, or should I take a chance?

Thoughts are appreciated.

I can't speak for all offices, but when I did my biometrics when we lived in New Orleans, you didn't have to have an appointment to get in. There was a security guard inside who checked your ID etc, but then there were just two queues to the main counter, one for people with Infopass Appointments and one for people without, and basically people with Infopass Appointments got priority.

It will probably depend on the office but I don't think that appointments are a must unless its a crazily busy office. I had to wait a few weeks from getting my biometric letter before I could actually get an appointment, however I later learned that people had just been walking in and getting there fingerprints and biometrics done.

Generally speaking you do need an infopass appointment, but you shoudl go and give it a try since it can't hurt. The worst that can happen is for them to turn you away...

If I'm not mistaken, we wouldn't have needed an infopass appointment when we went for emergency AP. We did make an appointment but I think they told us we didn't need one. This was in the Memphis ffice.

If you are able to make one, I would do it , but if not, I would go on to the office anyway.

You can try, but you may have troubles getting past security. Anytime I went to the DO, I had to have an appointment letter proving why I needed to get into the building. If you have documentation why you need the emergency AP, that might help.

It depends on your local office and their policies. My local office does not let people in without an INFOPASS appointment. Other offices have walk-ins on certain days and between certain hours. Even if your office is an Infopass only office, I would take the chance anyway. Try to be calm and explain your situation.

Okay, disregard the above link. This is the correct one for your local office, it seems they do take a few emergency walk-ins!!
