Again, context, they are six year olds, what exactly do you think their conversations about sex consisted of? What kind of person is the mother who complained that there could be no 'prosecution'? She could be speaking out of some 'religious' view of the world where any mention of sexual body parts is somehow outrageous. Seriously, the 'giggling 6 year old' is the most likely explanation judging by how this case has been handled so far.

Ok fine, you enjoy your view of the world as some slippery slope to Babylon. I'll continue to see the world as more or less the same as it ever was, a mixture of good, bad, ugly, beautiful, smart and stupid with all the grey areas in between.

Turning this into a some religious fool is just complaining, is a joke. Newsflash PH: the world already tried the anything goes style of society / system. All of those societies and cultures have since vanished. Now that is what I call evolution..

Much like kids watching violence from a young age, stuff like this has everlasting effects on children. In this day an age people make it out as if anything physical is simply "exploring the sexual body". Give me a break. Ever seen the ever lasting effects of child abuse? Based on the sexual exploration theory, sexually abused kids should naturally forget about it since we are apparently preprogrammed, like animals, to explore the human body and simply ###### right?

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Now that one really demands clarification, I think...

From this one article I might wonder whether you can honestly say that this happens 'all the time' in 2007... (even had this story not been exaggerated -as it appears to be); but then again your point seems to be that it’s perfectly reasonable to seize on a few extreme news stories, propagated by a sensationalist media and use them as a justification for a sweeping tirade against parenting standards across the board.

Again - as you weren't born "prior to the 60's" I wonder where you get this idea that it was some sort of fantastic social paradise.

Why don't you show me where this happened prior to the 60's.. Forget the 60's, I never saw this sort of parental neglect in the 80's as much as I see it now..

I am sure this happened all the time back then..

Mom burns her 3 children to death

A Haltom City neighborhood was in shock after police say a 29-year-old mother set her three daughters on fire on Saturday.

Investigators said the woman, whose name was not released, took the childen into a closet, doused them with gasoline, and set them on fire shortly after 11 a.m.

As I have already explained, you don't know that there was anything more than entirely normal 6 year old exploration going on. You have taken on the 'adult' context hook line and sinker. If this was a case of older children 'molesting' younger children, there would be something further to investigate.

I haven't said that this is a case of 'simply exploring the sexual body' either. I think it's highly unlikely that a six year old would have a notion what that means. However, don't take the voice of the only adult expert on the case too seriously, because that would leave us with a 'storm in a tea cup' now wouldn't it?

If I could be bothered, I am sure I could dig up case after case of appalling behavior towards children through the ages...

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

We're liable to go around in circles at this rate. You've made the comment repeatedly that the post-war period of the 50's and 60's was some sort of social "Golden Age". I'm merely wondering how you substantiate that with a factual rationale, or whether your romanticising this period based on little more than "gut feeling".

I've never really believed that "the grass is always greener...".

Lawless pleasure seeking societies where one is able to do as they please, live to ###### like animals, have come and gone. I am not going to go into detail about it as past discussions with you and PH have proven to be futile..

Even on an aesthetic level. Compare a city in the 50's to their current state in 2007. If you cannot see the difference I rest my case.

You have deduced that this is the kind of society I am advocating from what exactly?

Really, this is getting to the point of ludicrousness.

Many a carbuncle was built in the 50's, sheesh!

How? Merely asking you to substantiate the factual reasoning behind your statements. If you don't have one - then it becomes merely about romanticising some sort of fictional ideal.

I might as well say "people nowadays are worse dressed than years ago". Flawed individual opinion aside, its would be a meaningless statement.

Another explicit statement for another general claim. I think you won't go into detail about it not so much because you don't want to - but because when it comes down to it you can't. I couldn't - hence I wouldn't make the claim.

You always seem to be asking me to substantiate my personal view. Whereas you fail to ever substantiate anything yourself. Would you like me to post the pics of NJ again, to substantiate my point that is. NJ looked quite nice back in the 50's..

lol If I went into detail anyway the usual bunch would either use your uncanny ability to look for leaks, suck as grammatical errors, or start to attack personally.

PS I also learned from you guys to only give two sentence answer to everything.. ;)

Merely wondering why you're so defensive when asked to flesh out an explicit claim. I don't think the suggestion that 21st century society is 'worse' than the post-war decades during the 20th is something that can realistically be proven, its rather subjective IMO.

BTW - NJ still looks quite nice today - as with most places it merely depends where you go; but if you think you can sum up an area merely by googling up pictures of industrial district and down-town Newark and extrapolating that to the entire state. Well I'm not sure what to tell you - other than that its incorrect and simply ignorant.

I don't think you have a very good understanding of history. If you did you wouldn't make such a sweeping, explicitly non-specific claim.

This is your evidence of how much worse society is now than back in the day?

Actually that was an example of a change over the decades.

I'll put it another way for you then. Those same places that are now rundown and ghettos, where they in the same condition in the 50's??
