Hello everyone. I was wondering if anyone here on these forums has ever been denied the K-1 visa because their income was not enough on the affidavit of support, the I-134. I am wondering because I am a very recent college graduate, actually I have finished all my classes and still have not "walked the line" for graduation. My mother will be my cosponsor because she does make enough for any of the requirements and I will find a job soon. Just concerned on how many people get denied for this.

You generally are not denied outright. If support is an issue, you will be given a chance to provide an updated support from from a co-sponsor.

I had a similar situation to yours, and used a co-sponsor, we got approved, no problem, one piece of advice I can give, you still have to fill out the I-134, if you are working you still have to provide a 1040 and w-2s for 2006 OR make sure you get a paper from the IRS saying that you weren't recquired to file, it's the form 4506-T and you mark box 7. If not they can give you a 221-g for that. Also, make sure that she knows your mom's name, since they asked my fiance who the co-sponsor was "Who is....?" Hope that helps! Good Luck!

for any case you can have a co-sponsor, and that could be anybody(relative, friend, or whoever)
