Hey, we are doing great! Happily married and now we are doing the filing of the I-485 and all the other docs. I am posting here because I want to get other Brazilians and their spouses input on this question.

My wife did the exam and had vaccinations before the K-1 Visa and she said that they took all her exams and vaccinations and put them in a folder that was taken during either her entry to the US or during the interview..can not remember now. Now I am about to take her to get the I-693A and they told me over the phone that she needs proof of the vaccinations that she has had.

Anyone else have this problem? What did you do? I asked Fabiana to get on the phone to the place where she had her exam and vaccinations in Rio to see if they could fax us the records.

THANK YOU for your help...and please, we have the exam tomorrow (although I could cancel tomorrow and do it on Thursday)

Thanks!

The Rio doctor mailed a vaccination card/summary to us in the United States. I think the doctor's name was Joaquim.

We went to Dr. Aurelio in Rio and he gave my husband a vaccination summary (DS-3025) which the civil surgeon in the U.S. transferred to the I-693A form for a fee of $25.

Yep, what you need is the DS-3025. You can try calling the civil surgeon in Brazil and checking with them if they still have any records.

My civil surgeon in Curitiba gave me a copy of the DS-3025 for me to keep and the other one goes in the sealed package you have to take to the interview. If your wife doesn't have the copy of the DS-3025 she should try to call the doctor and see if they can send it to her, if they still have the records.

Doesn't she have her carteira de vacinacao? How did she prove to the doctor in Brazil she'd taken the shots she'd taken? That carteira de vacinacao belongs to her, it doesn't go inside the sealed medical she had to take to the interview. She must have it in her possession.

If the civil surgeon doesn't have her vaccination records, she can use her carteira de vacinacao and if worst comes to worst she'll have to take some shots again.

Nessa, she proved it by taking the exam records to the doctor during the K-1 Visa process and he put it in the folder.

To let everyone know what has happened since; Fabi had the records, but in her parent's home in Niteroi. Luckily, she was able to tell her Mom exactly where they were and her Mom faxed them to my office and we were able to take them in to the civil surgeon's office here.

Thanks for everyone's input, and for anyone going through the K-1 process and reading this, make sure your spouse makes copies of their vaccinations and exams and BRINGS them with them to the US! hahahahahha :D

That's a very good advice. The entire K1 and AOS process we have made copies of everything and also I brought to the States every paper, document, medical stuff, even my chest X-ray I had to take for my medical in Brazil I brought, even though I didn't need it here (they made me take a new one for the medical they asked me to spend money again here). The original vaccination card I needed to use here. So yeah, bringing original and or copies if you don't have the original of everything is a must do.

Yea - Eliton has everything he thinks he'll ever need as well. And if he's missing something, then we have an excuse to go back to Brazil (if it's not too urgent to be mailed).
