We have 22 (!!!!!) days until our interview in Montreal for the K1 visa. All of our paperwork is in order, boxes are being packed and arrangements are being made for an October 31st legal marriage.

All I have left to do now is worry about the visa being denied. I can't seem to find any information on what the process is once you've left the Embassy with a denial. Could someone point me in the right direction?

I like to be prepared, and if we are denied, then having a plan of action will make the devastation a lot easier to bear. The only thing I think we could be denied for is the financial aspect.. and even then, my Dad co-sponsored and he makes more than the government's standard for a visa issuance.

Is anyone else in the same boat right now with an interview coming up within the next month? How are you feeling?

I can't wait until the interview is over and I'm back at home in Massachusetts with my soon to be husband and our cat.

I'm not worried about being denied - not sure what reason I would have to be. My interview is shortly after yours!

Worrying about being denied seems like it would cause extra unnecessary stress if there's no reason to worry about being denied!

Don't put the cart before the horse. Worry about what you have to worry about and let this one go until you find out you need to worry about it.

More people are approved then denied on this board.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

Stop thinking up ways to add more stress!!! You're not going to be denied. Find something else to worry about. Like what happens if you get the visa but they deny you at the POE.

You're clearly not a stress freak. Me and the OP have this is common, my only plan is how to plan on what to do if I am denied. I haven't really considered how to celebrate if (when actually) we are approved. There is no reason why we wouldn't be approved.

But every time I see a case update or get a letter or a notice I freak. That's just how my wife and I operate. We expect the worst, so when something great happens we are floored.

Guess it is always good to be prepared. In many cases they dont just flat out deny you. they may ask for further evidence, or updated paperwork. You mail it back with passport, and they mail you back the visa!! Seen a few cases like that on VJ!

For many the interview is the easiest part of the process( for cdns) The interview itself is VERY quick! So if you have ur paperwork in your order, you should be fine. Best of luck

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

I had the same fear. It's hard not to think like that- you wait so long and you have so much riding on it, you can't help but wonder what would happen if

you get denied.

I would just breathe deep and think about it logically. Why would they deny me? I don't have a criminal record, as far as I know I am in good health and don't have any horrible diseases, I am a good person, I am in a legit marriage, etc, etc.

The Interview was just fine. I had a minor glitch with the Medical report- but that was an error that the Doctors office made and it was fixed.

I am back in the US. I have worries about having to go through the AOS interview too. I think it is normal to worry :)
