My husband's interview last June (for K3 spouse visa) was relatively painless. They didn't ask him any tricky questions, the woman who interviewed him was very kind. When he interviewed, we had been married six months and had spent about 1.5 months together, and had another trip planned for later in the summer which included my daughter coming with me. He took a LOT of papers with him, most of which he didn't need. The interviewer was primarily interested in seeing ALL the pictures he had brought with him, and she asked who was in each picture, what the story was behind it, etc. There's a better account of his interview on my VJ timeline. He ended up receiving his visa about 1.5 months after his interview.
