...if I found out that my boo was talkin to other women right up til our engagement...omG, there'd be hell on.

I don't know how you do it.

Ok, Stevo...I'll bite....do what?

Keep an LDR going without seeing each other for such a long time.

Is it cheating when you cheat on your spouse with your spouse? Reminds me that episode of Big Love where the older wife is having an affair with her husband

What exactly do you mean by this? Don't most people here deal with seperations? But to answer your question, when you have platinum waiting for you, your head's not turned by plated silver ;)

But forgive me for thinking that's really not what you're getting at. What are you really trying to say?

What a beautiful way to phrase it!

My personal philosophy is that true love transcends the physical, yeah it's nice to be able to hold, but we communicate in our time apart exactly (and probably more) than if we were physically together.

I love you babe, not long now

Everyone is different in their approach to a relationship. Just because certain people don't see each other as often during the wait doesn't mean their love is less valid. Others may not have the money to fly over and spend some time together before approval.

I didn't see Platy for 6 months, others have waited even longer. Just makes the ending all the more special, imo. :star:

It took Luz and I 3 years. Something worth having is worth waiting for.

I didn't read Steven as casting aspersions on Lisa's relationship as much as I saw him expressing admiration that not only have they had the usual long-### visa wait, but, IIRC, they've endured a long separation BEFORE the long-### visa wait.

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

I dunno...based on what I said that he quoted, I'm skeptical that there's some other meaning of what he's getting at. Especially how cryptic it seemed to me.

But hey, I'll say that I might be wrong...I guess I'll wait for S to come back to clarify....

And yeah, our wait has been RIDICULOUS. The irony is that the longest seperation for us was only a few mos prior to us getting engaged

ITA....I know it sounds trite as **, but when you meet that person who truly completes you, then that gives you the strength to do whatever you have to do. This wait totally sucks...but then I think of my grandparents & how he shipped off to war & she waited for him & it makes it all the less painful. I tell myself all the time 'he's not in war, just in England' And imo, when you're a true partnership...like omG this is forever, no doubt...then each of us uses the time to the best of our advantage...I constantly push him to 'soak up' all the social aspects of his life because I know one day he won't have that around anymore. And to me it's like not seeing a family member...just because you don't see your mom everyday doesn't mean she's no longer your mom! And just cos he's not here doesn't make him any less my partner in every sense of the word.

Wow, I'm in a mushy mood this am, lol....
