i received my 2 year conditional GC in june, and we moved to a new home sept. 8. we don't own the home yet, but we'll be closing this friday, sept. 21.

is it really required for you to change your address within 10 days of moving even tho i have no pending application from the USCIS at the moment? and where it says, I am in the U.S. as a ... should i write Permanent resident, or Other and specify as : Conditional Resident?

thank you!

You are legally required to file form AR-11 within 10 days of moving... you also need to file form I-865 (Sponsors Change of address) within 30 days of moving....

You would write Permanent Resident on the forms..... you are a Permanent Resident with a conditional Greencard...

Yes it is federal law that all resident aliens keep homeland security updated on their resident address, also the sponsor(s) are required to keep USCIS informed when ever they move.

In the past, our predecessor, the INS, required every alien in the United States to report his or her address annually, in January. This requirement was eliminated in 1980 and annual reporting is no longer required. However, if you are not a U.S. citizen, the law still requires that you report any change of address change within 10 days of the change.

AR-11 for the resident alien, and I-865 for the sponsor(s).

They make it easy you can file AR-11 online.
