Additionally most of those referenced stories are from mainstream publications and network news. Can hardly be said that these stories have been ‘suppressed’.

Who said the media here was suppressed anyway?

I don't know why you even bother posting since neither you or PH would ever see the relevance of such an article anyway.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

I think I’m a little confused as to what your point is. So the Russians, Chinese etc are trying to steal our technological secrets – that’s hardly new or groundbreaking, business as usual from the cold war ago (and yes – we were doing it to. Its part and parcel of the game). All that can be said is that nothing has really changed – I mean… has it?

What exactly is your argument?

What part of the thread title did you not understand.

The part that this is new, unique or surprising. Other than that my reaction is merely "so what".

For me, the problem I had was not so much the article as the scrambled hyperbole that BY attached to it.

Let's get down to brass tacks. Say I had no clue that China was into the whole spying game and this article was drawn to my attention with the 'see, the right wing are right to be worried this is proof thingy attached'

Ok, well, say I take it at face value, this is news to me, I am now shocked and outraged, "China, how dare they, spy on us? That's not right etc etc." What exactly would you like me to do with this outrage?

How about I say, "I'll boycott Chinese goods"? Will that satisfy some need to express the outrage?

If not, what will?

The thing is this, it's not so much that I don't think it's happening, or that I don't think spying is somehow outrageous (although probably for very different reasons than you), it's the spin you put on this in order to try to justify some very vague 'right wing' agenda that I take exception to.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

Oh, and just to clarify, Number 6 and myself are not one homegenous 'left wing' conspiracy. We are two very different people with probably widely differing opinions on a range of subjects.

Dunno about you - but when I read the article my first thought was "I'm not going to spend any more of my money on take-out chinese food", at least until they add the prefix "freedom" to every menu item ;)

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).
