I can apply for AP any time...right?

I've done most of the immigration paperwork for my husband so far - no problem with that. After we got married and we applied for the AOS for him we decided it better to apply for the EAD too (good thing!).

My husband was dying to work and he got his EAD quickly and now his happy working again.

He didn't want to apply for the AP because we have no immediate plans to leave the country. However, we do want to go to Brazil next year, although we're not quite sure about the date yet.

I wanted to verify that we can apply for the AP for him any time, correct? Also, what is the fee when it is separte, and how long does it take to be approved - 3 months?

I figure we'll need to apply by the end of the year if our plans are to travel next March (or so). I think it's a good idea to have the AP anyway - just in case.

Thanks!

Ok - it's too late to edit, but I see it costs $305. I liked the fees before July 30th better :bonk:.

You can apply but with a little luck you will have the GC by then anyway.

I was thinking that....

BUT my husband's case is still at the NBC. It hasn't been transferred to CSC or to our local office. In fact, it hasn't even been touched since May!

So we'll wait a bit longer - probably 'til November when it's been 6 months. We'll apply for the AP only if we don't have news by about December.
