"Civil liberties" aren't worth much if you have to live in fear behind bars and can't go about freely because the predators rule the neighborhood. In some areas, the criminals have essentially declared their own version of martial law.

Buy a gun. Piss off a liberal. Predators only rule the neighborhood beacuse you let them. Get a camera, cellphone, and call the police when you see something. Petition the city council and police commisioner. When enough people complain, these problems do get fixed. Petty criminals don't like being hassled by "the man."

Good lord, Steven, Guiliani's just going to be another authoritarian puppet. The Republicans shouldn't get to play with the government for a while until they master crayons and fiscal responsibility.

I am not a fan of Clinton's plan, but I don't think this particular criticism is a good one. The market responds. Force everyone to have health insurance and suddenly, the companies have a lot more healthy adults (like me) who generally fly without insurance because they're unlikely to need it. That means a bigger risk pool, which likely means lower fees. What's happened in Massachusetts?

My vote is still open, but I'm just really disappointed with some of things about Hillary - she was never my first choice anyway. Giuliani is about as socially liberal as Hillary is, but his position on the war in Iraq doesn't sit well with me.

As for Massachusetts - good question. I'll see what I can find tomorrow on how their universal coverage is taking place. Here, in California, we are edging close to passing similar legislation.

:ot: I just now saw your wedding photos! Very nice! Congratulations again!

Why do we have to choose between two New Yorkers? This reminds me of that world series a few years ago. Didn't like that either.
