What is wrong with USCIS? The waiting times are getting progressively longer, and it seems that soon the expected wait time is going to be twice what it was in May when I applied. The VisaJourney "expected date" has gone from July 19 to August 15, to September 19, and now to October 2. This is very frustrating for me, and I'm sure others, as I've been waiting 114 days and people in June were getting theirs after around 70 days.

Any words of advice or motivation? Do they do this just so people give up or what?

I know the wait and hassles with immigration has torn my life to absolute shreds. I went through one process to end up with another and the other is taking 3 times as long.. I am so sad.. I am so so so sad and the wait is so so hard..trust me.. I am shattered as well from this....

Oh, I am so sorry for your sadness. I read this and I am only feeling half of what you do I imagine. I am waiting for our NOA2 for a K1 visa that we filed at the end of May, and have only received our NOA 1 June 8th. I keep thinking that once we have the NOA 2 we are in the clear, but in all honesty I have the feeling that the next year of my life, will be tense and stressful. It seems as if you have been going through this for quite some time, and I am dis-heartened that you have had to wait so long. It's so unfortunate that we all have to wait the length that we do, I am sure that each one of us has worked so hard to dot their i's and cross their t's to make the process go faster. But unfortunately the government has control and they work at a snails pace. I with you the best, I hope that your situation soon see's the light at the end of the tunnel and your sadness turns to joy.

They are processing more documents than before and, as far as I know, haven't geared up for that. About two years ago they increased their work force but most likely have outgrown that expansion.

It might have something to do also with the fact that they receive more and more applications (not just k-1, k-3, but probably all types), plus a lot of people probably tried to get their applications in before they raised the fees...We were lucky and only had to wait 3 months at CSC (we filed in February), I honestly hope the processing times start going down asap!!!

so many workers and hundreds of thousands of petitions....this will cause it to slow down.

and remember the times are "estimated" not actuals, you cant rely on them at all.
