Thanks but frankly after reading v. 2.0 I'm speachless (or write-less)....

P.S. I forgot to add one detail about her plan. She will legislate that you, and I, have health insurance, just as we are required to have mandatory auto insurance.....

You'll be forced to carry coverage- by law! More government intrusion into our lives!

That's not much of an intrusion. I don't find having to carry auto insurance very intrusive at all.

Most people who don’t have health insurance generally want it but are unable to afford it. The idea that there are people out there who don't want any coverage (and want to stand up for their right to refuse it) seems rather spurious to me…

When I had to have a lymph biopsy in 2005, I was working at a retail store (just after I’d gotten my EAD). My co-workers at the time were appalled that I was going to do this – and many suggested that in their place they would have taken their chances and not bothered to see the doctor in the first place.

I found that rather disturbing – that fear of the massive financial charges that would be incurred by interacting with the system came before any consideration of their own health and well-being.

Exactly. It's BS.

How many people do you know who think we'd all be better off if no one had auto insurance?

Man is made by his belief. As he believes, so he is.

I wonder what is worse paying more in taxes to cover health care or having people to afraid to seek medical care because of the cost. When 50% of bankruptcies in the US are caused by being unable to pay medical bills something somewhere isn't right.

I personally support a universal healthcare plan but it has to be implemented correctly and not just taxed onto some other budget..

I completely agree, it amazes me that people here have to look at the financial aspect of seeking medical treatment and risk their lives in some cases because they cannot afford it.

That American society accepts that health care should be a profit making business and not something that all citizens have a right too is IMHO a very sad reflection and those that support it.

Its not unlike suggesting that people should not have to have bank accounts. All right – its not mandated that you do - but you can’t exactly live life very easily without one.

Odd: We can finance a trillion dollar adventure that doesn't do anybody but a few profiteers any good - well over 200 billion a year thus far and no end insight - while at the same time cutting taxes but we cannot fund this piece of healthcare that will come at a lower cost and bring America into a comparable standard with the other inductrialized nations? I'm lost.

I agree with what others have said, sounds a whole lot CHEAPER than the war in Iraq!

Why is my life worth less than the guy whose is lucky enough to have a better health care plan than mine? We ALL should have equal health care as ALL lives have equal value! Take the profit out of saving lives!

It would cost trial lawyers, hospitals, insurance companies, and pharmaceutical companies lots of money. So I don't see it happening.

It would also require a focus on patient outcomes over profit, which I don't see happening either. (With a fixed amount of resources, expensive illnesses may not be treated if they are sufficiently rare or expensive.
