K3 and cr1

Hi all,

I have few questions?

my k3 is already at the Embassy and have interview date

my cr1 is on completation of DS-230.

1) If I go k3 visa interview and for cr1 interview do i have to go back to my home country?

2) when both case will be there for K3 visa Can I ask them that Can I have interview for cr1 rather then k3?

A CR-1 is a visa so needs to be interview at the consulate of emabssy abroad.

If both K-3 and CR-1 are in process, and the CR-1 looks like it will come up for an interview many either postpone the K-3 until the CR-1 arrives at the consulate, so that the consulate will just intervew for the CR-1, or you can interview for the K-3, and just wait in the foreign country for the CR-1 interview.

The CR-1 is much less expensive to get than to adjust status in the USA. (CR-1 $390, I-485 (Adjust status) $1010)

Yes you can request the K-3 be skipped for the CR-1.

The CR1 interview would be in Pakistan.

If the CR1 case file is on station by the time of your K3 interview date, you can request that the interview be for a CR1. Actually, they would violating their own policy to issue a K3 with a CR1 case at the Consulate.

You can also just wait for the CR1 interview regardless of what happens with your K3 interview.
