OK so tonight my husband decides to look online at different sites for airplane tickets to get an idea for when he needs one... (hopefully soon)

Hes asking me abunch of questions! :help:

So, for any of u whose husbands already came over here, what websites if any did they use to purchase an airplane ticket?

Did they pay in US dollars?

AND did they have to get a round trip ticket or could they get a one way?

(F) -Tam

I find for long distances working through a real travel agent is better than these websites. The sites are best if you're taking a package - like hotel, car, and ticket. Drop the car and ticket - and you usually don't get a good deal at all.

I normally save a couple hundred per ticket (season-dependent) when working through an agent for a ticket to Amman. In the off-season, online and agent are around the same.

The moral of my story: Stick with someone who matches your own culture.

( This coming from an Arab who married an Arab from overseas... go figure. )

Tam I hope he gets it soon!

I was wondering the same thing about plane tickets too, especially if they MUST be round-trip or one way (remember someone had some kind of problem with the one way ticket?)

Divorced. To hell with him.

Mine did the same thing only in Alex.

With a K3 Adam will only need a one way ticket but if round trip is about the same I would go that route just in case. We all plan and expect the best but it doesn't always turn out that way.

My husband just walked into a few of the travel agencies there in Cairo, got some quotes, called me and I told him which one to get :P

I have a question. I used my credit card to pay for my fiance's ticket. is it a problem? I remember that there was a question: who would pay for your ticket to the USA? and he wrote that he would. It was easier for us to do it online using my credit card (he has one, but he goes to a cyber and they steal the numbers). Now I am worried that he may have problems at the port of entry. If asked, he will tell the truth and that he is bringing the money to pay for it. Anybody had a similar experience?

Thank you

I don't see why that would be a problem. I fully intend on charging my husband's flight inchalla.

I just looked and in the one in a trillion chance that my husband could come on Nov 23 it would only cost $308!!! Wow I hope prices stay like that! That's with a 4 + hour layover at JFK though but it would be worth it for the price! Thanks for the link!

I started to worry after I read this post.

Yeah I don't know why she did that. I don't think they even know how you paid for it. I mean you're not showing receipts to the immigration peeps are you?

Mine used a travel agent. He paid for his own ticket although I don't see why it would make any difference who pays for it. If the USC pays for it, wouldn't it be good proof later of a valid relationship... ??

Visited Jordan-December 2004

Interview-December 2005

Visa approved-December 2005, 1 week later after supplying "more information"

Arrived U.S.A.-December 2005

After you check with cheapoair, check directly with the airline, sometimes it's cheaper. I paid $612 directly from lufthansa from casa to JFK, and on cheapoair was $639 for the same day.

According to Lufthansa they have to give all information related to every reservation to the US government for security purposes. Hopefully they will not make a big deal out of who paid for the ticket.
