The website states that they have processed receipt date of 08/30/07. I'll be calling tomorrow to inquire .. do I call the USCIS customer service number?

You don't have a case number so calling the USCIS number won't help much. There have been 30-40 day backlogs on NOA1.

Wouldn't USCIS be able to tell if an NOA has been sent out using our A#?

I'm trying not to freak out ... the UPS bill says entry date 07/28/07, ship date 07/30/07 and receive date 08/01/07. It's agony waiting over a month and a half to see if they are going to accept the old fees or whether or not we'll have to start from scratch. My little boy would like to see his family for Christmas ...

You might have more luck with an infopass appointment. I think the information line mostly reads what's in the computer, anyway.

Possibly. I forgot K1s already have A numbers, but USCIS has been known to give new A numbers with each application. Caladan is right, you'd probably have better luck w/ an info pass. If you call and the application is sitting in a semi truck in Chicago, they won't be able to find it or tell you anything, even with the A number. Besides, the misinformation line really only has access to the information you can see online on the case status page as far as individual cases go - ie, if it's not up there yet and they can't see anything, they can't tell you anything.

As far as seeing his family for christmas, AP probably wouldn't be issued until the end of December anyway (usually issued right around 90 days), so the application should have been filed at the beginning of August IMO to ensure AP.

#######, it wouldn't let me edit again. The semitruck reference is in reference to another post on the forum where another member spoke to a USCIS employee who told him that there is a semitruck full of applications in Chicago that still need to be processed - just so you understand and don't freak :)

Well, in theory they DID file at the beginning of August...the OP states that the packet was received at Chicago on the 1st August. However, with the current backlog the way it is I don't think there are any concrete answers regarding how long anything will take at the moment.

Oh wow, I read the 08/30/07 instead - oops! Yeah, you're right - well in that case, it doesn't really matter and the OP may or may not get it in time.
