The nuclear Iranian crisis forces the world "to prepare for the worst" which "is war," French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner said Sunday evening, while emphasizing that negotiations should still be the preferred course of action.

Kouchner, quoted by French daily Le Figaro, added that "Iran does whatever it pleases in Iraq ... one cannot find in the entire world a crisis greater than this one."

Why would they say that? They wouldn't even hold their own during WWII when the Germans sped through France faster than Lance Armstrong.

In other news....

British forces have been sent from Basra to the volatile border with Iran...

In signs of a fast-developing confrontation, the Iranians have threatened military action in response to attacks launched from Iraqi territory while the Pentagon has announced the building of a US base and fortified checkpoints at the frontier.

The UK operation, in which up to 350 troops are involved, has come at the request of the Americans...

...

The decision to return to the frontier has been heavily influenced by the highly charged and very public dispute with the United States. British commanders feel that they cannot turn down the fresh American request for help after refusing to delay the withdrawal from Basra Palace. They also maintain that the operation will stop Iranian arms entering Basra.

Brigadier Bashall said: "We are not sitting here idly at the air bridge. The security of Basra is still our responsibility and we shall act where necessary. We are also prepared to restore order in Basra City if asked to do so."

'We must prepare for war against Iran'

Who the hell is "we"? :hehe:

"Credibility in immigration policy can be summed up in one sentence: Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave."

"...for the system to be credible, people actually have to be deported at the end of the process."

US Congresswoman Barbara Jordan (D-TX)

Testimony to the House Immigration Subcommittee, February 24, 1995

What an interesting article..

Iraq was never the real battle ground anyway. Where do people think these insurgents are getting their weapons from?? There sure as hell are not any factories left or open to produce them.

France...fight??...an oxymoron.

They will use those tanks they bought from Italy.....3 speeds in reverse and one speed forward in case they sneak upon you from behind.

While it cracks me up, it says something for France to be saying the situation with Iran is basically worsening. It is actually a slap in the face for many people here in VJ who think appeasement and diplomacy will always work..

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.
