I think K3 applicants need to do AOS ( adjustment of status) after the POE. As K3 is non immigrant, applicant will need to to EAD ( Employment authorization), if he/she plans to work after the entry. EAD takes approximately 1.5 - 2 months. K3 will applicant will get green card after the AOS interview. I do not know how long would it take for AOS interview.

Hey Patdev,

I came thru the K3 visa and my interview was in chennai on Jan 12 2005, came to the US on Jan 28 2005, then applied for AOS and EAD in the mid of Feb 2005, had the Biometrics for EAD on Mar 1 2005 and for AOS in Apr 1 2005, Got my EAD on May 25 2005( it took around 90 days) then applied for ssn no in June 2005 and got it in oct 1 week, and just had my AOS interview on Feb 3 2006 and was approved and i got a 2 yr conditional green card cause we would complete 2 yrs of marriage on Feb 9 2006. My next step would be to lift conditions between Nov 5 2007 and Feb 3 2008, If u have any question pls ask me.

I just called DOS and found out the interview date for my husband...

His interview is on March 23rd, 2006...

Well, I just find out about the interview date by calling DoS. We still have not received an official appointment letter. However, I feel that it is still too early to expect the letter from the embassy. Probably, my husband will wait till the end of February for an official letter then start inquiring sometimes in the March.

For obtaining the Police Certificate, you said that Police officers will need the letter from the embassy. So, I think we can get the print out of the March Interviews, and he can highlight his case # and Interview date. Hopefully, the officer will be conviced and will issue the certificate without an actual letter from Embassy.

he can email them and request the letter so can his PCC get started if it havent taken care off!! in my case they did send letter in email to my wife so she could get all her document together earlier.
