Husband robbed!

:crying: Well I found out today that my husband's office was broken into. The thief took a lot of things including a bag where my husband put the Corrected I-864 , RFE checklist letter and tax transcripts. We've had a lot of delays for various reasons with sending this I-864 RFE back. After ordering the tax transcripts and not receiving them. My husband finally was able to pick them up 2 days ago. Now he will have to get them all over again! :crying: I've cried a lot today. :crying: Can't believe this happened to us. I feel like our case is never going to be completed. I feel like giving up on this entire process. My husband is planning on calling the NVC on Monday and explaining what happened. He has the police report.

Can we just down load the I-864 forms, make the corrections , provide the tax transcripts asked for and send it back without the RFE checklist letter and correspondence. We do have the barcode sheet . It was not in the bag. Delayed again!!! :angry:

Sorry to hear that happened. You can certainly print out the I-864, make the necessary corrections and get everything else together, but you can't send it in without the checklist letter. However, you might want to check James' shortcuts and see if there's an explanation on how to do RFE-letters. Alternatively, you can of course send in the amended form with an attached letter explaining the situation. Make sure to include your case number visibly on every page though.

When you're husband calls on Monday, he should ask what the quickest thing to do would be.

I'm so sorry! That's just awful! :(

I hope if you call and explain, they'll resend the stuff a lot faster. And hopefully they'll catch the wankers who robbed your poor hubby!

Sorry to hear that happened. You can certainly print out the I-864, make the necessary corrections and get everything else together, but you can't send it in without the checklist letter. Copy that. Make sure to explain your situation, if necessary 5 times. Maybe they can send you another checklist, as you have to wait for the tax transcripts anyways.

Still waiting for our cards...Had to file I-90 as they sent them to the wrong address.

March 9th, 2010, Received GC that has been lost in the mail for 10 months. Still waiting for my son's that is lost as well.

Filed Waiver for my son's 10 year GC and it was approved. He finally received his GC after its been missing for 2 years.

Thanking God this is over for 10 years.
