Only relation is you have to file a CR/IR form I-130 and have the approval notice to file a K3 form I-129F.

K3s also have to have the I-130 approval notice to adjust status later in the US.

Besides that they are completely different kinds of visas.

You can file for CR and IRs without filing for K3s

But you have to file for CR/IR to file for K3.

CR [immigrant visa]=s married less than 2 years. Gets 2 year GC and has to remove conditions to get 10 year GC

IR[immigrant visa] =s more than 10 years. Gets 10 year GC

K3 is a nonimigrant visa and has to adjust status to get the GC. Plus remove conditions in 2 years to get 10 year GC

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

!! ALL PAU!

Well, I kinda knew the difference, but nobody told me that once you submit k-3, then the ir1/cr1 becomes dependent on the k-3, and as you can see in my timeline below, my k-3 was, for some reason that I have yet to figure out, sent to a field office for "further processing" which i'm sure is going to delay the cr1 visa now. boohoo :(
