Has anyone had success in changing their biometrics appointment time? If yes, how did you do it? Yak-Nam's appointment is set for 10/9 (in Seattle), however, she will be out of town then; hence, she would like to go earlier. Can she just go to the office at another with the letter in hand, explain the situation, and get the fingerprints done on the spot?

Cheers.

Ari

Definitely don't go later. Says right on the appointment letter [Ours did] if you/she miss it you may be history and outa here.

Best is to make an Infopass appointment and see what they say.

You should have a part of the biometrics appointment later that allows you to reschedule. Fill it in, and you'll have to wait until they give you an other appointment. It will be after, definitely not earlier unless it's an emergency which doesn't sound like your case.

Thanks for the replies - I really appreciate them. Unfortunately, I don't think I communicated what I was quite after effectively. I see clearly on the letter how to reschedule the appointment and the warning about missing the appointment. What I want to know is can we march down to the local field office tomorrow (ie. well before the actual appointment date) with the letter in hand, explain the situation about the problem with the dates, and maybe get fingerprinted on the spot. Now, I have heard the stories about people's experiences being highly variably dependent on the personality and mood of the office working at any particular point in time; however, has anyone successfully pulled of such a maneuver?

And actually, yes, this is an emergency (but isn't everything with the USCIS an emergency!).

Cheers.
