:help: My visa was aproved pending receipt of future hubbys 2006 tax return, I explained that it wont state a high amount as he was deployed so wot he earnt was not taxable. But she still insisted she wanted it.

Now im gettin concerned that i send it in and they see the low amount and refuse it as it not enough. Is there anything else we can send or provide?

I showed the lady his LESs which show his earnings this year so far of $41000 but unsure if she saw this amount as there is loads of amounts on those things, I did try and explain but she didnt seem to be in very good mood and i didnt want to upset her more and she refuse us our visa lol.

Can I resend the LESs (with YTD Entitlment highlighted) wen send the 2006 tax return and passports? Or do they only let you return items requested on the sheet?

Thanks

His 2006 income was listed on the I-864, correct? As long as the tax return matches the amount he put for 2006 on the I-864, then there's no problem at all.

We did a I134 Affidavit.

I got the courier coming 2moro to collect the papers so hopefully everything will be enough for them. Ive highlighted the amount earnt to date on his Leave and Earnings Statement (printable payslips) so im hoping that will show them what they need to know.

Fingers crossed

Hi Sam,

I know you made that post yesterday and your papers were being picked up today but I just wanted to reassure you that they will understand about the earnings during deployments not being on the tax returns. I had the same situation but had no bother at all when it came to interview.

Best wishes,

Candace

Oh geez, I'm sorry - I didn't look at what type of visa you're applying for! I am sure it will be fine as Candace has said. You've sent proof of the amount he actually earned, plus the tax return they've asked for. What truly matters is his current income anyway. Even if his 2006 income was actually what was on his tax return, it wouldn't matter for the purposes of issuing the visa as his current income is sufficient. :) The real reason for wanting the 2006 tax return at this point is more about showing that he's been filing returns than it is showing how much he made in 06.

It shouldn't take too long. If they're happy with what you've sent, it shouldn't be more than two weeks before they ask for your passport so they can issue the visa. And once they do that, it's only a matter of a few days. :)
