I actually caught this part of Dr Phil (don't normally watch it, honest) and he basically showed her up to be the money grabbing, publicity hungry woman that she is. It was crystal clear and she did not come off looking very good at all.

Having read through the thread I think this whole situation could have been avoided if South West Airlines amend their company name as follows.

Well, he started off by having her tell her side of things, about how she only wanted an apology, about how she would be happy with just that. Dr Phil then said to her "So, you'll be completely satisfied if they apologise" and she said something along the lines of "yes".

He then spoke to her mother and her attorney who were in the audience. Phil was a bit surprised by the attorney and questioned him a bit on why the hell she would need one (obviously cause she wants to sue them). Then someone from Virgin came on and offered her some freebie tickets.

Then Dr Phil says "Well, it just so happens that I have a statement from the CEO of South West Airlines" and he read out the statement that was posted previously. With the apology came some freebie tickets to anywhere SWA flies to. She took these happily.

Then Dr Phil started to say something like "Well, now you've got your apology, I presume that you will now stop all action against the company". He said some other bits and spoke again to her attorney, basically saying they really need to get a grip.

He pans back to the girl again and she has obviously seen the direction this is going and she hands back the tickets to Phil saying "oh I don't want these now" etc

He then tries to get her to clarify if she is going to sue the company and she was like a deer trapped in headlights. Phil then said "So this company where the CEO has apologised, given you world round trip tickets, which has the safest flying record in the USA and you're STILL going to sue them?" She said she wanted to make sure no one else got treated like she did and Phil said "Well, surely all of this bad publicity will help with that?".

You get the gist. She looked really bad and quite rightly so.
